Enthusiasm is running high at Sullivan East as the Patriots, fresh off their second play-off appearance last year, kick off their 2008 campaign with a non-conference visit from Volunteer Friday night.

Isaac Kinley was expected to make a difference for Science Hill's football team this season and he showed last Friday night that he would, indeed, be a factor for the Hilltoppers -- a player for opponents to reckon with.

GREENEVILLE -- The Unicoi County High School Blue Devils started their season on a sour note Friday night, being defeated by the South Greene Rebels, 31-14.

CHURCH HILL -- Steady rain limited the Big 9 Girls' Golf Tournament at Silver Lake Golf Club on Tuesdy to just nine holes with the Science Hill girls winning the team title and Dobyns-Bennett's Aubrey Baker the individual honors.
